The “Hero’s Journey”
We’ve mapped how we’d like the emotional cadence of the overall beginning-to-end journey to work, starting in pre-purchase phase with a skeptical prospect and ending with the user as an evangelist for the service. We’ve mapped it to Joseph Campbell’s “Hero’s Journey” based on his research into comparative mythology. While this “monomyth” model is no longer considered as universal as Campbell initially proposed, it does form a neat narrative scaffold that maps closely to how we’d like our overall large-scale user journey to function.
